At St. Ignatius Preparatory and Primary School in Dodoma, Tanzania, collaboration plays a crucial role in the effective operation and management of the institution. The Society of Jesus, specifically the Jesuit Eastern Africa province, oversees the school’s overall mission and educational framework in partnership with other institutions. This collaboration extends to various key partners, including the Sisters of Saint Gemma Galgani of Dodoma, who contribute significantly to the school’s administration and educational delivery.
The Jesuit Fathers of Detroit and the U.S. Government initially laid the foundational work for the school, setting up its structure up to grade 2. Our Lady Queen of Peace Foundation, Inc. of Calgary, Canada, later played a pivotal role in extending the school’s facilities to include Form 7.
The ongoing collaboration with the Sisters of Saint Gemma Galgani involves their active participation in the management and educational aspects of the school. Their contributions help the school’s operations align with the Jesuit values of intellectual rigour, moral integrity, and holistic development. This partnership helps integrate spiritual and academic guidance into the school’s curriculum and activities, enriching the students’ overall educational experience.
The Society of Jesus and its partners work together to deliver a comprehensive Jesuit education that emphasises intellectual, social, emotional, and spiritual growth. Through this collaborative effort, St. Ignatius Preparatory and Primary School contributes in developing students who are well-rounded, compassionate, and prepared to make meaningful contributions to society.
