Formation

Jesuit Schools emphasise Human Excellence, encapsulated in what is known as ‘the four Cs,’ which serve as the foundation and guiding principles of Jesuit education. At St. Ignatius Preparatory and Primary School, each student is encouraged to become a Compassionate, Competent, and Committed individual, as well as a person of Conscience. These pillars are integral to the holistic development that Jesuit education aims to foster.

Formation Ethos and Aims

Jesuit Formation Ethos and Aims target in animating the spirit of Generosity in hard work, generosity towards each other and the service for those who need us the most. This spirit is summed up in the St. Ignatius’ Prayer of Generosity: Lord Jesus, teach me to be generous, teach me to serve you as you deserve, to give and not to count the cost, to fight and not to heed the wounds, to toil and not to seek for rest, to labour and not to seek reward, except that of knowing that I do your will.

These aims and ethos are achieved through a formation that encourage students, staff and stakeholders to seek to be men and women for others, to offer service that promotes justice and manifest particular concern for the poor, propose Christ as the model of human life, emphasising active engagement on the part of student, openness to life long growth, and a care and concern for each person.

Formation in Matters of Faith

Faith formation is central to the educational mission of St. Ignatius Preparatory and Primary School, seamlessly integrating the spiritual development of each student throughout their educational journey, from childhood to young adulthood. Students are encouraged to explore their spiritual identity and respond to God’s call, all within the context of the realities of today’s world. Rooted in the Jesuit tradition, the school offers a variety of programs, retreats, and service opportunities that invite students to reflect on their deepest desires and the needs of the world around them, enabling them to realise their full potential and better serve society.
