St. Ignatius Preparatory and Primary School Hosts Vibrant School Baraza

Dodoma, Tanzania – March 27, 2024 – St. Ignatius Preparatory and Primary School came alive on March 27, 2024, as students gathered for the much-anticipated School Baraza. This event, central to the school’s culture, provided a platform for the entire school community to come together, reflect on the rhythm of the school and daily events and programs that underpin the school life at St. Ignatius Preparatory and Primary school.

The Baraza began in the early morning with a special Mass in the school chapel, setting a reflective tone for the day. The Mass, attended by all students, emphasised the importance of community, shared values, and the collective pursuit of excellence.

Following the Mass, the School Baraza officially commenced in the Manresa Hall, the school’s multipurpose venue. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as students filed in, eager to participate in the discussions and activities planned for the day. The Baraza was structured as a school-wide assembly, where various student representatives, and leaders in the school had the opportunity to address the entire school community.

One of the key features of the School Baraza is the open forum, where students are encouraged to voice their opinions, share concerns, and suggest improvements for the school. This interactive session allowed students to take an active role in their education, fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility for their school community. Topics discussed ranged from academic matters and school policies to ideas in relation to clubs and activities. The School Baraza highlights the school’s emphasis on critical thinking, active participation in academic and social affairs of the school as well as building students capacity for self-expression.

The School Baraza on March 27, 2024, was a resounding success, leaving the St. Ignatius’ community energised and unified.
